Upcoming stuff

After attending the board meeting tonight, we have a few announcements to make. First, if your team did not participate in a post-season tournament, our region will cover $300 of your team's registration to any upcoming AYSO tournament. This is because we had already allotted some funds toward the League Cup tournament which was unfortunately canceled. Please see a list of tournaments sponsored by other AYSO regions in our previous posts.

You should have received an equipment order form from Doug. The deadline to request any equipment is in 2 days, on Friday. Doug will place all orders on Friday; we will assume you don't need anything if we don't hear from you.

We are starting the team formation process for Extra teams to play Fall 2019 through Spring 2020. In a few days, we will be sending out a form for all interested individuals to apply to be next year's Extra coaches. It will be due a little before Christmas. A committee will then select the Extra coaches in January. Our first set of tryouts will be on the evenings of January 14th and January 16th. Save both of those days, as we need you to help during the tryouts. The second set of tryouts will be on Saturday, Feb. 9th. Again, we need all current and future coaches to attend. Please inform your players of these tryout dates. They are expected to participate in all tryout sessions.

While you are emailing your players, you may want to find out how many of your players are returning for the spring season. Most of them will return but a few may leave your team to play another sport. In that case, you may want to add players to your spring roster. One source of new spring players is the all-star teams which will start their games right after the holidays. The all-star teams will not continue into the spring, so the players may be interested in joining an Extra team in the spring. As a reminder, continuing players will not have to pay a spring registration fee.
